32nd German Young Talent Competition for Gemstone and Jewellery Design Idar-Oberstein 2021

„Fragile - handle with care"
Both the gemstone design and the design of a jewellery piece with precious stones were permitted. Thus, unmounted gemstones, the gemstone in finished jewellery, the gemstone object and the gemstone sculpture were allowed. The use of synthetic gems was permitted. Pearls were only allowed in combination with gemstones.
1st PRICE: ALINE STANEK
BAUMHOLDER, CERTIFICATE AND 1500 EURO
An outstandingly crafted revolving gemstone object took first prize in this year's young talent competition. It symbolizes the fragility of our world due to climate change and the resulting changing seasons. The award winner cautions: "Our world has a huge burden to bear because of us."
