31st German Young Talent Competition for Gemstone and Jewellery Design Idar-Oberstein 2019

„Under the Surface"

On the occasion of our 50th jubilee competition this year also in the Young Talent Competition, both the gemstone design and the design of a jewellery piece with precious stones were permitted. Thus, unmounted gemstones, the gemstone in finished jewellery, the gemstone object and the gemstone sculpture were allowed. The use of synthetic gems was permitted. Pearls were only allowed in combination with gemstones.

Cut rutile quartz

The best work of this year’s young talent competition is titled: “The three golden hairs of the devil”. Quartz with Rutile needles inside cut into a square. An object with an incredible play of light and reflection that interprets the theme of the competition in a perfect way.
